Do I have to have a phone line?

In most cases you do have to keep an active phone line for your internet to continue to work. However a list is provided below with the requirements for each type of broadband:

Naked or Bare DSL Internet No, You will not need to keep your phone line
DSL Internet Yes, You will need to keep your phone line
Telstra or Optus Cable Internet No you will not need to keep your phone line
Wireless Internet No, you will not need to keep your phone line
